Announcement: USCIS and Other Federal Offices Closed on January 9, 2025
All USCIS offices, including the Contact Center, as well as other federal agencies, will be closed on Thursday, January 9, 2025, as a National Day of Mourning to honor former President Jimmy Carter.

All USCIS offices, including the Contact Center, as well as other federal agencies, will be closed on Thursday, January 9, 2025, as a National Day of Mourning to honor former President Jimmy Carter.
What this means:
- Naturalization ceremonies, interviews, and appointments scheduled for January 9 will be rescheduled. You will be notified with a new date.
- If you have a biometric appointment on January 9, you will receive a new notice within three weeks. You can also reschedule online through your USCIS account.
- The USCIS Contact Center live assistance will also be closed. USCIS online tools and resources will remain available.
Federal agencies will be closed, including:
- United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
- Social Security Administration (SSA)
- U.S. Embassies and Consulates
- Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
- Department of State (DOS)
- Social Security Administration (SSA)
